The FCKEditor used in this site has a number of functions to help with this issue.
They are the copying tools

although you can copy text created in a text editor, like notepad via [Ctrl]+[c].
1. If you document was created in MS Word Copy your text in the normal way
2. Move to the content creation from and select the
icon
3. A text box will open like the one below move the cursor to the ext box press [Ctrl] + [v] keys
4. Make sure the Ignore Font Face definitions checkbox is ticked
5. If you have no bullet points include you can check the Remove Style definitions check box.
6. Click ok
7. All font and formatting data copied from the work document is now striped out of the text.
NB. If there are any images to be added they will need to be uploaded to the server if not already done so.
See FAQ adding pictures to content for help with this.
8. Now preview the document and you will see your content without all the additional code.

There is another way you could just copy and paste. Preview and the use the “ switch to plain text “ this will switch the editor view and you can manually remove the unwanted data – Beware this is not for the feint hearted and it’s better to use the method out lined above
There are three ways you can add photos to the site they are
We will answer each of these in a different FAQ post. click on the appropriate link yo to that faq
To add multiple photos to a Gallery you need to select from the Create Content menu Image.
The following screen is loaded
Select the Multiple Upload Page link and you may see this popup box ( you will need java installed on your machine)
Select the always trust content from this publisher check box and select run ( this is for Firefox)Internet explorer and Google Chrome will produce slightly different warning screens for java content but just confirm and the java application will load you will then see the screen below
Now find the images you want to upload to the site, select them and drop them into the white area or use the add button. Your screen will look something like this.
Click the upload button and the progress bar will move across. Once completed you will see a screen like this:
If you now goto to photos from the navigation bar and select Library you will see you uploaded pictures in the gallery
If you are uploading a single image you will see this page.
However if you have selected an image from a gallery the details will already be filled. So for now lets have a look at what can be added and on saving the image will either be uploaded or moved the selected gallery.
You may find the Body area text entry box as a plain text area rather than a wysiwig (what you see is what you get) editor this can be changed.
If you have selected a previously uploaded image from a gallery you will need to select the edit tab to change details. If there is no edit tab and you are logged in to the site, you did not upload this image and do not have rights to change it.
If you wish to add or replace an image select browse and navigate to the image
Click preview to see what the image will look like if you are happy the click save
Your image will be upload \ moved to the gallery and the text you added will appear below.
The default image upload will allow the picture to be automatically added to the slide show for that gallery. If you wish the images to show in a particular order the prefix each title with a number. See any of the 2009 galleries for an example.
To move a large number of images can be time consuming but is fun and rewarding when it all works.
The creation of this document will illustrate what you need to do
Select the content you which to create from the create content side bar ( remember to be logged in to the site to see this option)
Remember if you are creating content in a word processor prior to uploading to copy using the copy word tool in the rich text edit
When you copy and paste with images the place holders are kept but you then have to link the placeholder to the image either upload it from your computer or find in the gallery image area on the site.
Select an image place holder and either right click or select the image button from the tool bar to access the image properties
Select the Browse Server button and a popup will open or you will be asked to allow popups from this site. Once the popup is open navigate to the images directory
Now either find the image you want to include ( do not use the version of the image .thumbnail.
included in the file name)
from the naviagation menu select upload
And browse you machine to select your image
Then select the upload button and the image will upload
Once you have up loaded / found the correct image from the navigation bar select Send to FCKeditor link
Select ok and the image is added you and resize in the normal way
And that’s all there is to it
